Psychologist Peter Bower‘s life is thrown into turmoil after the accidental death of his daughter. He tries to move on with his life and to continue his work, when he starts suspecting that there might be something not quite right with his patients. Risking his own sanity, Peter delves into his past to uncover a terrifying secret which only he can put right.
This psychological drama-horror-thriller was an interesting idea. Now, the execution, while well produced, isn’t great as it falls into melodrama and cliché in certain points which lets the whole movie down.
Director Michael Petroni (Till Human Voice Wake Us) created the right look, but the story seems lacking and the overall quality inconsistent. It has a great cast, including Adrien Brody (The Pianist, The Village, The Jacket, King Kong 2005, Splice, Predators, Wrecked, Bullet Head), Bruce Spence (The Cars that Ate Paris, Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, Dark City, Queen of the Damned, I Frankenstein, Winchester), Anna Lise Phillips (Walking on Water, The Pack, Her Dark Past, The Tank) and Sam Neill (Possession, Dead Calm, Jurassic Park 1 & 3, In the Mouth of Madness, Event Horizon, Daybreakers, Escape Plan, The Commuter), who help bring the overall level to above the bare minimum.
I was most impressed with Adrien Brody‘s Australian accent, though. 5.5/10.
