Train to Busan (2016)
Film Review
By the Geezer of Oz
“While a zombie virus breaks out in South Korea, passengers struggle to survive on the train from Seoul to Busan.” (IMDb)
Finally, a recent zombie film that gives you the action, pace, scares, gore, etc., without losing the quality a good horror film should possess. The film deftly maneuvers between drama, action, thriller and scary-enough-horror to give you one of the most complete zombie flicks we’ve seen in a while.
While there are places where the acting turns melodramatic, this is the style of Asian cinema and cannot be faulted too much. Overall, the acting is surprisingly great, with mostly well-rounded characters. The soundtrack does a great job to keep you in it and the cinematography is also engaging.
Overall, I would assume that any fan of the sub-genre now has a new favourite horror film to add to the all-time list.
While others might also enjoy this film, for zombie horror fans it is a must see. 8.5/10.
