Bite (2015)

Film Review

By the Geezer of Oz

“While on her bachelorette party getaway, Casey, the bride to be, gets a seemingly harmless bite from an unknown insect. After the trip, Casey discovers that everything can change with a single bite.” (IMDB)

This film is pretty much what you think it will be. It has some nice moments, no surprises and no real twists or turns.

The storyline is reasonable and works well enough. Director Chad Archibald (Ejecta, The Heretics) does a fairly good job here, but it is clear that, likely for budgetary constraints, care was placed on certain areas while neglecting others. The acting (by a cast made largely of unknown actors) and some of the dialogue are uneven and lacking at times, but not too terrible to disrupt the whole experience too much.

It is possible that in better hands and with a couple of more familiar faces, it could have been better, but with the unoriginal concept, probably not much better.

Largely pedestrian but has its moments. 5.5/10.
