Deadgirl (2008)

Film Review

By the Geezer of Oz

Two high school friends discover a naked, tied-up woman in an abandoned mental asylum. Soon they come to realize that she cannot die. (IMDb)

This film starts off as atmospheric and edgy, which kept me interested and waiting in anticipation for what comes next. However, it soon turned into the horror version of American Pie and I found it to be intermittently quite boring.

This low budget affair shows some early promise, especially with its atmosphere and dark premise, but also with some decent acting.

Overall, however, I found this black comedy-horror affair lacking real punch, although it feels like it wants to be controversial with its misogynistic approach.

Surprisingly underwhelming, though not entirely terrible. 5.5/10.
