House on Willow Street (2016)
Film Review
By the Geezer of Oz
“After a young woman is kidnapped, her captors soon come to realize that in fact they may be the ones in danger and this young woman has a dark secret inside her.” (IMDb)
A nice supernatural horror-thriller that I get the feeling most of you will likely appreciate.
The cast is made up largely of unknown actors who do a surprisingly good job. The more familiar faces include Sharni Vinson (Bait, You’re Next) and Carlyn Burchell (Robocop 2014, TV’s Eyewitness).
The production value and direction by Alastair Orr (Expiration, Indigenous) are quite decent, but I felt the storyline was still missing something. The beginning was intriguing and piqued my curiousity in places, yet the middle lost a little bit, and it fizzled out by the end. Still, a somewhat enjoyable 90-minute ride for the most part.
Worth checking out. 6/10.
