Let Us Prey (2014)
Film Review
By the Geezer of Oz
“Held in a remote police station, a mysterious stranger takes over the minds and souls of everyone inside.” (IMDb)
This Irish horror film is quite effective and entertaining. Let Us Prey has the feel of an alternative, low budget film but is very well made. The camera work and production value suit the modern-European style of the film and the acting by most involved is of very high standard, with interesting characters who keep the viewers’ interest.
The gore is in high dosage, but serves the story. Overall, this one does not resort to too many cheap tricks and gimmicks but keeps the tension high with an interesting script and director (and co-writer) Brian O’Malley (The Lodgers) has really done a great job here. I found it quite impressive overall and definitely worth your time.
Starring the awesome Liam Cunningham (Dog Soldiers, Blood: The Last Vampire, TV’s Game of Thrones) and Pollyanna McIntosh (Exam, Offspring, The Woman, Blood Ride, TV’s The Walking Dead).
A solid 7.5/10.
