Nadav Bin-Nun is an Israeli artist. He is a filmmaker, musician and actor. He is mostly known for his feature film The Soft German (2014) and several shorts, including Closeness (2016) and Poetry That is Meant to Kill (2010). Amongst his musical projects are The Cambodian Album (2016) and The Naïve Album (2017).
Nadav was born in 1983 in Tel-Aviv, Israel. He began experimenting with writing and music at the age of six, later turning to acting and directing. Nadav has a Bachelor’s Degree from the College of the Arts and completed his Master’s Degree in Film & Television at Tel-Aviv University in 2015.
Between 2002 and 2009, Nadav was a member of The Lab Theater in Holon, Israel. While part of the theater group, he performed in Blood Grove Chronicles, based on the story of the murder of Asaf Shtireman (Directed by Ronen Shemy).
In 2017, he performed in Kamaluka, as himself. The play is loosely based on his own real-life events (Directed by Yonatan Peretz).
In 2006, Nadav began making short films. In those he acted as director, scriptwriter, editor, actor and even music composer. Poetry That is Meant to Kill, his final project at The College of the Arts, won Best Experimental Film at Jerusalem Film Festival 2010.
The Soft German, his final project for his Master’s Degree at Tel-Aviv University, won Best Independent Film at the South Film Festival 2014.
His Video Art Installations have been showcased many times all over the world. In 2013, he was the recipient of The Young Artist Award by The Office of Sports and Culture in Israel.
Nadav currently performs as a member of the band The Pearl of the East, as well as his own solo shows.
