Se7en Questions with Musician

Fabian Engelbracht

Who are some of the artists or some of the works that inspired you to get started in your field? Of today’s current artists, who do you draw inspiration from?

Inspiration for all my different projects came from many different directions. I would say that the ones which stand out are Air, Einstürzende Neubauten, The Cure, Chelsea Wolfe, early Pink Floyd, obscure seventies movie soundtracks and life itself.

What have thus far been some of the negatives of being an indie artist in your field?

Not even yet gaining indie artist status and being an on-again-off-again unemployed sad dude making the only thing he feels he can do good – sad music, without being noticed. That sucks.

What have thus far been the positives of being an indie artist in your field?

My music taking part in the movie GET MY GUN, with my project SUICIDE KID.

What have been your favorite completed projects to work on up to this point? Can you tell us a little bit about them?

See answer to question #3 🙂
I love how the LAST DAYS OF THE SUICIDE KID song Dark Mountains evolved and surprised even myself by sounding totally different to what I had planned.

What projects are you currently working on or have planned for the near future?

A physical release of the LAST DAYS OF THE SUICIDE KID – songs already released on YouTube plus a new song. New, more obscure SUICIDE KID sounds in 2019.

Where do you see yourself in a few years and what would it take for you to consider your career a success?

I hope to continue doing what I do, that is all I need. If I find someone who is willing and able to release my music, I would be a happy sad dude! I would LOVE to find someone who wants to release my music physically. I’m a CD/Vinyl fanboy, owning lots of vinyl and thousands of CDs. I am not a fan of Downloads/Streams. I should have been born way earlier, having my heydays in the awesome seventies. Instead I just lived for four months in the seventies, having been born in late August, 1979.

If you couldn’t do this anymore, what career path do you think you would have followed and why?

I think I would focus more on photography. You can check out my photography work on my Instagram.
