Sam Mason

Filmmaker And Actor

A true Southern California native, Sam Mason was raised in and around the movie production industry. He enjoyed the thrills of learning the stunts and high speed life his father lived as a professional movie stunt driver and race car driver. Sam Mason learned a great deal from his dad and extended his physical training to include Kick boxing and Jiu jitsu. He served in the U.S. Army, worked as a security guard, and worked in the construction industry for many years. Sam began expressing his passion for the film industry by acting.

He delivered his first leading role with a compelling performance as a mixed up-detective battling depression and addiction who conjures up conspiracy theories in the film Idioms, and ‘his menacing yet comical portrayal’ of a surf gang leader in the independent comedy The Legend of Drunken Monk earned him the ‘highly coveted Jordan Film Spirit Award.’ He then took on the leading role again when he portrayed the more psychologically challenging character of the creepy guy who is a menace to society in the short Dead End.

Shortly after the completion of filming the part of ‘creepy guy’, he was cast as a featured SAG extra portraying a biker/vender in the American Film Institute drama, Santa Crocewhich tells a story about miracles of heaven on Earth. He co-starred in the full length independent feature, Four 1 Liberation Front, a comedy where his character is a more laid back, easy going, California redneck involved in a conspiracy against the U.S. Government.

Sam found himself intensely drawn towards the complete production process and the artful skills in special effects. Mason has the vision and desire to create new and unique stories. His ambition in this area has bred ideas that could only be suitably satisfied by creating his own full service indie production company, Sacrificial Pawn Productions. Quality special effects are essential to conveying his creative side which inspired and spawned the partnership with Steven Stonecipher. They created
StoneMason SFX precisely so that they could create his superior and convincing effects at an affordable price.

Sam Mason is the Writer, Director and Producer of the psychological horror film Normal Terror. This creation is entirely his conception, design and masterpiece, so who better to play the main sadistic role of Sam Neal than Mr. Mason himself? Sam Neal is an average single dad by day and a homicidal maniac by night. After he puts his son to bed, the good man becomes the murderous monster that nobody would suspect in passing.

Mason has already started receiving accolades for his current feature Normal Terror. He has done ten interviews during 2018.

He was requested to be a guest speaker on a star studded panel for the Long Beach Acting and Film Association where he was given the Independent Community Arts Award for his work in the Independent Film Community.

Sam has the ability to change his appearance quickly, powerfully, and effectually for his roles with a wide variety of guises, demeanor and dialects. He has made the switch from a rugged edgy outcast to a sophisticated Wall Street investor overnight. He takes great strides in building his characters from the inside out so they are complete and fulfilled once presented.

With rudimentary adjustments to his appearance, he can become any character and reveal that persona, both mentally and physically. As a featured extra in the film Cross Wars 3: Cross Contamination, he performed his own stunts and choreography alongside stars such as: Danny Trejo, Richard Grieco and many others.

He has also just completed the filming of his scenes for The Butcher, a cannibalistic horror film. Michael Moutsatsos is the writer, director and mastermind behind the camera for The Butcher. John Travolta is set to portray Michael Moutsatsos himself, in the movie Moose, scheduled to be released in 2019.

Sam Mason has written several short screenplays, currently has six synopses ready to be written into feature length films and continues to be an artesian well of innovative and artistic ideas ready to come to the screen.
